Athena in Chrome

Athena in Chrome is an optional browser extension that lets you ask Athena to research, navigate, and complete tasks in Chrome tabs you select. Before the extension connects for the first time, it asks you to consent to the browser-data processing described below.

Information processed

When you ask Athena to work in Chrome, the extension may process and send to Athena:

  • the URLs, titles, navigation state, and grouping of tabs in your active Athena browser session;
  • visible page text, accessibility information, form controls, and other website content needed for your request;
  • screenshots, console messages, and network-request metadata when needed for a requested feature;
  • browser actions and instructions, such as clicks, typed text, scrolling, navigation, and task results; and
  • your Athena API key, account identifiers, settings, consent record, and reliability information needed to authenticate and operate the extension.

Website content can contain personal communications, identifying information, financial information, health information, location information, or other sensitive data. You should include only tabs and content that you want Athena to process.

How the information is used

Athena uses this information only to provide, maintain, secure, and improve the browser-assistant functionality you request; authenticate your account; prevent abuse; diagnose failures; and comply with law. Athena does not sell browser data, use it for personalized advertising, or use it to determine lending or creditworthiness.

Athena may share this information with service providers acting on Athena's behalf and as otherwise described in this Privacy Policy. Human access is limited to situations where you consent, access is required for security or abuse investigation or legal compliance, or the information has been aggregated and de-identified.

Storage, retention, and security

The extension stores authentication, consent, settings, and session information in your Chrome profile. Task inputs and results sent to Athena are retained and protected under the same workspace, security, and retention controls that apply to your Athena account. Data is transmitted over encrypted connections.

Your controls

You control which tabs are included in an Athena browser session and can stop an active task from the side panel. You can sign out, remove the extension, clear the extension's Chrome storage, or contact Athena to exercise the privacy rights described elsewhere in this Privacy Policy.
